Which Cable?: Double 4 Wave 1/2
There are 3 different cables for these joysticks. Please look at the images below and determine which cable you need. The joystick INCLUDES the cable you choose below at no extra charge. You do not need to buy it separately :)

1.Double 4 Pin Wave 1/2 will have two 4 pin cables + a 40 pin IDE connection
2. Single 5 Pin is easy, it will only have the 1 cable which is5 pin
3. On Costco and some wave 3 we have see the double 4 pin + a 12 pin connection
4. These will NOT work on Burgertime. There is no PNP cable for that machine.

Can we answer what you have? Yes send us a pic if you do not understand. Can we tell you without a pic because you bought it from a certain store? No. A1U seems to just install stuff at random :/

Very nice upgrade

The cable fit great and the install went good. Installed on a Ms. Pacman/Galaga arcade1up, original joystick lasted about a year. The sanwa feels so much better and stable as we're playing.

Thank you DIY Retro Arcade for making it easy for me.

I purchased an Arcade 1Up Ms.Pac Man 40th Party Cade recently. Stock joystick was garbage. Decided to give this mod a try. Yup, I bugged Shane & the team a bit b/c I wanted to make sure I was buying the right part. Nice that the stick came with the necessary cable already. Bought a yellow ball top b/c, well, pac man!! lol

Entire thing took maybe 20 minutes. Like the video, I had to tap the stock stick out with a hammer (glue), use a hair dryer to remove the wires from the board (also glue), change the Sanwa gate from 8 to 4 way (easy) & swap the plates so I didn't have to drill anymore holes. Worth noting, you should keep the Sanwa gate & switches off while you screw in the new joystick. Leaving them on may block a screw hole or 2. Once it was installed, tested & good to go!!

For some, may say the stick is a bit loose, but I like it. You can swap the spring out & I'm pretty sure it is sold here. After watching videos on other possible mods, I think I'll be coming back for the LED button mod for my Yoga Flame cabinet. I mean, the word flame is in the description, I need to light it up!!

LED's came from elsewhere, but the yellow ball top looks great with my finished setup. Thanks all!!!

Great upgrade

I wore the original joystick out so I upgraded to the Sanwa. Install was easy. First attempt at using the new joystick was a disappointment…. Playing Ms Pac-Man was very difficult to control and I ended up swapping back to the original. Rewatched the install video and realized I never locked the stop plate to 4 directional. Once I did that and upgraded the spring to 4lbs, it’s been awesome! I’ll be swapping the second joystick next.

Sanwa stick rocks

Really happy with the stick and it plays great.

Even happier with the support. When I first installed the stick it didn't work. Emailed support and Shane helped me trouble shoot the issue... turned out to be a cracked PCB. Instantly Shane sent a new unit and I didn't even need to pay duty (in Canada). Thanks DIY Retro.

Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT 5 Pin Joystick

Joystick is great. Looser then I wanted ,but its fine.

Duties fees made this purchase regretful.
