Turned out to be a little more DIY than I could handle. First I stained the bare wood, however after staining noticed it had saw / sanding marks which became very visible. I sanded a fair amount to correct this, but just wasn't happy with the finish. Rather than paint I covered it in with stick-on shelf paper which looked pretty good and with the plexi protector seemed awesome. Unfortunately, it needed a 1/16 to trim to each side of the panel and plexi on the width, as somehow it was slightly to wide for my Arcade1up cabaret style cab. I could have just loosed up the bolts on the cab sides, but that created some other issues. I personally do not have a way to make perfectly straight cuts for either the wood or the plexi and had to rely on friends for this. Ultimately it did not turn out to good, but that's on me and my skill level. The control from DIY retro is good quality.
